MasterPeace is an award-winning global grassroots non-profit and non-governmental peace movement, currently existing in more than 40 countries around the world.
MasterPeace was launched in 2011, with the aim to mobilize people around the world to use their talent and energy for peace building and togetherness. Through music, sports, arts and dialogue, MasterPeace will help lead the way to a more sustainable world with less (armed) conflict.
MasterPeace focuses on actively engaging people around the world in peace-building actions. The world has seven billion inhabitants. We view them as seven billion sources of talent and energy. To achieve all that, MasterPeace offers a platform for a large community of Nelsons; social entrepreneurs, volunteers, bloggers, journalists, media, musicians, businesses and active citizens to connect together and support with actions.
By 2013, MasterPeace was awarded by the Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the ‘innovation in peace building’ award on behalf of the United Nations Correspondents Association (UNCA).

MasterPeace organizes global and local events, innovative campaigning, events, leadership trainings & capacity building events, to encourage the active involvements of youth from around the world in topics of social change, peacebuilding and community cohesion, aligning up efforts to help contribute to the world’s SDGs goals.
MasterPeace started as an initiative of equally east and west, with it’s award winning two co-founders teaming up after a series of successful work together, social entrepreneurs Ilco van der Linde (The Netherlands) and Mohamed Helmy (Egypt).
Following their 2006 success, where Ilco & Mohamed stood abreast on their stage alongside the Pyramids. Thousands of students attended their Dance4Life event breaking the silence on HIV and Aids through music. This successful East-West collaboration made them hungry for more so they promised to continue working together on involving people for social change.
This ambitious pair had the dream of creating a global movement of peace-builders. Within ten years they aim to inspire millions of people using their talent and energy. They called their journey MasterPeace. Day by day artists, social entrepreneurs and companies jump on board and the dream became reality with grassroots initiatives run by thousands of volunteers. Mohamed and Ilco: “This dream is not our possession. We truly hope you feel invited to become the co-owner of MasterPeace!”
The MasterPeace Movement is run by our Clubs. Local Nelsons making a change in their own environment. These Nelsons are facilitated by a highly motivated core team located in Mexico, Egypt and The Netherlands. As well as by an enthusiastic board of renowned professionals from different backgrounds.
